After being a popular free game since 2008, on 13th December 2019, Moshi Monsters shut down. This broke the hearts of so many dedicated Moshi fans, and those who would never hear from their friends again.
Moshi Monsters, an online game that was once popular with children around the globe, is shutting down.
Moshi Monsters sent out an “Important Notice” to users on November 13, which stated that “The Moshi Monsters web game will be closing down at midday (GMT) on 13th December 2019.”
Mind Candy, the company that developed the game, said the site is closing down because it currently runs on Flash, a web technology that Adobe, its creator, is set to kill next year.
“[The closure] has been on our mind for some time, since that decision was made by Adobe in 2017,” Ian Chambers, CEO of Mind Candy, told Engadget.
Many teens have made petitions for the site to not shut down. Many of the comments on the petitions have said things like, “I loved this game since I was a kid…. I can’t bear to lose something I’ve had for so long, even if it’s just a game.” One comment suggested that Mind Candy turns the web game into an app because Flash is getting deleted.

The game offered daily puzzles and challenges to work the minds of children and teach them things such as math, flags from around the world, and spelling. It also sparks creativity with children by allowing them to create and design a monster, dress them up, and decorate their room.
Many students are disappointed by the web page shutting down.
